Happy New Year Everyone!!
Here are my top 5 new years resolutions for 2010:
- Be a good father and husband.
- Motivate and Inspire as many people as possible to get the best out of themselves in running and in life.
- Work on my own fitness
… I have the best job in the world in that it is my job to achieve and maintain fitness. I would highly encourage everyone to make their health and fitness a part of their new year resolution. For me, I need to be as fit as possible so that I can have a chance to win the Boston Marathon on April 19th, and then hopefully also defend my ING New York City Marathon Championship. For me, the key to those two goals will be to get to the starting line healthy and strong.
- Have a lunch, a run or a meeting with the following people: Coach John Wooden, President Barack Obama, Phil Knight, Oprah, Coach Tony Dungy and other great motivators for life.
- Spend more time w/ families and friends.
All in all, I tell myself:
Just Do it MEB… Maintain Excellent Balance.

It’s official, Meb’s racing in the 2010 Boston Marathon. Thanks to the marvels of modern social networking, Meb’s Facebook fans/friends and Twitter friends/followers got the word in less than a couple of hundred characters.
Via Meb’s Facebook Fanpage:
Meb Keflezighi: Well…friends its official, I am going back to run the Boston Marathon on April 19, 2010. This will be my first time back since my 3rd place finish in 2006. I hope to improve on that performance and will Run To Win!
Via Twitter:
@runmeb: I am excited to run Boston along w/ my friend Ryan Hall, I hope one of us come up with the win to break the 27 yrs streak. We can do it.
For those of you who just can’t get enough characters and words
Here is a great article in the Boston Globe about the Meb and Ryan running the Boston Marathon next Spring. US marathoners back in running.

With great achievements come great honors. This weekend was a big moment for me. Even though, there was a lot of traveling, it was a great opportunity to meet and interact with several runners, fans, officials, meet directors and sponsors.
Meb hanging with Elvis and Elvis in Vegas!
It started with the Rock N Roll Las Vegas Marathon. On Friday, I flew from San Diego to Las Vegas. On the way, it was great to be recognized by the ticket counter person. Then, I ran into some of the Rock N Roll staff and to a teammate of mine from UCLA. I also ran into my sister’s (Dr. Bahghi Keflezighi) co-worker who was heading to Vegas to get married.
Once I got to the hotel, I had an hour and ten minutes to spare before I go to the Nissan and Runnersworld Booth to sign autographs. Hmmm, what should I do … Well, you guessed it, I went for a run. 50min for the run followed by 20 min to stretch and get ready for the appearance. Luckily, I do not have hair to take care of, so it does not take me long to get ready
